This isn't Flex or CF, but I did mention this plugin at the meeting:PicLens. This interface is visually stunning, unique, and intuitive.

There is a somewhat similar Flex component called CoverFlow that implements a carousel widget for images:CoverFlow

thanks for the Plurk link... nice app. I find it interesting that the time line places most recent events to the left, older events to the right. I would expected the timeline to scroll the opposite way... underlying HTML is very clean, looks like there is JSON data feed

Hmm, I don't have access to any other groups for flex or C#. I wonder if there is an equivalent to http://www.coldfusioncommunity.org/ for flex?
